This morning, we had our first whole school trial for the ‘Early Risers’ club which will officially launch on Tuesday 22nd April.

We are delighted to report that we welcomed 66 pupils to the club, which equates to 30% of the school accessing the free provision.

All the children came were registered, had some healthy breakfast prepared by Mrs Howard. Then they had the opportunity to be active with their friends outside or take part in other calming activities within the school hall run by the school support staff.

We have spoken to the children who attended and they reported that they enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to attending after Easter. We have got some lovely suggestions to develop the provision further and look forward to working with school catering team on offering themed days and different breakfast items.

Several parents commented that the gate and the road around school seemed quieter this morning at 8:45am which is a positive impact of the new club.

If you would like your child to attend The ‘Early Risers’ club this can be booked on School Gateway by selecting – Early Risers – Cereal or Early Risers – Toast. This helps plan the staffing, food and lead to less waste. Booking can be made up 8:30am the day before.

Please note that to enable all the children enough time to access breakfast you need to be in school no later than 8:35am.

We are excited to be one of just 11 schools in Lancashire chosen to take part in this new schemeand we are committed to making this a success for all our families.
